GW HOSPITAL WOMEN’S BOARD
22ND ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
Empowering Heart Health
June 16, 2025
Kenwood Golf & Country Club, Bethesda, MD
For two decades, the Women’s Board has transformed a single golf tournament into a powerful beacon of hope and healing for healthcare initiatives.
Last year focused on mental health, while 2025 champions a critical cause: preventing heart disease, which claims over 500,000 American lives annually—more than all forms of cancer combined—and remains the leading cause of death among women.
We invite distinguished medical professionals and community leaders from the DMV region to join us in making a powerful statement of solidarity and commitment to building a healthier future for our community. Your participation provides essential resources and compassionate care to those most vulnerable, transforming lives one swing of the golf club at a time.
Make a difference. Be part of the change.
This year’s charity tournament will benefit the
GW Heart & Vascular Institute
Advancing Heart Health, Empowering Care
The Women’s Board is proud to support the GW Heart & Vascular Institute’s mission to advance cardiovascular health through research, education, and community service.
Key Heart Health initiatives include:
1. Hearts of Resilience: A celebration honoring cardiac survivors and the exceptional GW Cardiology team who achieves outstanding survival rates. This event brings together patients, physicians, and hospital leadership to share inspiring stories while promoting heart disease prevention across the DC-MD-VA region.
2. Heart Warriors Prevention Program: Combating the epidemic affecting 128 million Americans through targeted interventions. GW's cardiology experts partner with primary care to deliver comprehensive heart health education, featuring the GW Teaching Kitchen for nutrition guidance, plus specialized programs for weight management, hypertension control, and smoking cessation.
3. Healing Hearts Beyond Cancer: An innovative educational series addressing the cardiac complications of breast cancer treatment. This multi-disciplinary program unites oncology, radiology, and surgical specialists to present the latest research and protocols for protecting heart health during cancer care.
